Experience in Area of Coaching

As a former School Principal and teacher, Carmel has first- hand experience of leading a team of teachers in a School. She has mentored/coached newly appointed Principals and teachers over a number of years. Carmel also acts as independent assessor for leadership appointments in primary schools, interviewing staff in the greater Dublin area. Carmel has extensive experience in management, leadership and change management, particularly in the field of education. She has coached and developed individuals and teams in organisations. As an Executive Coach she has coached clients from a variety of organisations, e.g. Accenture, AIB, Apple, Deloitte and Touche and Google. Carmel also provides One to One Executive and Personal Coaching to private clients from a wide range of backgrounds including the private, public and Not for Profit Sectors. Clients typically meet Carmel for an initial “chemistry” meeting to decide if there is a good match for both the client and Coach. Most coaching assignments are typically delivered over five or six sessions with emphasis on clear contracting, clarity about the desired outcomes, evaluation of the process and future goal setting.

Carmel is an Executive/Business and Personal Coach, who changed careers, from her previous role as School Principal. She began her career in teaching in a non-DEIS school and subsequently spent many years in a DEIS Band 1 School. She served on various Boards of Management becoming familiar from a very early stage of her career with the concerns of School Principals.
